Chambersburg personal trainer

As a certified strength and conditioning specialist and certified personal trainer, Marissa has dedicated her career to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals. With over a decade of experience, she has developed a unique approach to training that combines science-based techniques with customized plans for each individual client. Marissa has helped numerous clients in Chambersburg, PA, but also with clients from states as diverse as Maryland, New Jersey and West Virginia through virtual coaching. She has even developed training programs for one client living abroad in Germany through her online coaching option.

Growing up, Marissa was always an active kid, competing in women’s gymnastics and devoting hours every day to improving her routines and gymnastics technique. However, it wasn’t until college that she discovered her passion for strength and conditioning. During college, she began a structured resistance training program during her recovery from a gymnastics related knee injury. At this point, Marissa fell in love with training as she saw how instrumental it was in rehabbing from injury, improving her fitness and body composition and coming back better than ever before.

After completing her bachelors degree and graduating Summa Cum Laude, Marissa pursued her certification as a NSCA personal trainer and started her career at a local gym. Over the years, she has worked with a diverse group of clients, ranging from athletes to busy professionals to seniors looking to stay active. Over the years, Marissa has also opened her own private personal training center and has completed numerous professional courses to improve her skillset. She has earned her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and has completed numerous courses on kettlebell training, powerlifting, cardiovascular training for athletes and fitness nutrition. Marissa always aims to further her education and practical learning to provide a better experience for her clients.

Marissa believes that everyone is unique and requires a personalized approach to fitness. She takes the time to get to know each of her clients, understand their goals, and create a plan that is tailored to their individual needs. Her training methods include a combination of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and flexibility training to help clients improve their overall fitness levels.

In addition to her one-on-one training, Marissa also speaks at workshops and seminars on a variety of health and wellness topics. She is known for her enthusiastic and motivational coaching style, her ability to connect with clients, and her commitment to helping people achieve their best selves.

Besides training her clients, Marissa aims to lead by example. She exercises daily and has competed in a number of amateur athletic competitions, including women’s drug tested powerlifting and kettlebell competitions. Outside of the gym, Marissa enjoys spending time with friends and family, sewing, reading, learning, decorating and traveling.

Personal Training Results

Amanda: “Marissa is a great coach! In regards to programming, she does a great job working in exercises that will get me to my goals and focuses on keeping me on track with proper intensity.  What I really love is the accountability she holds to me by checking in with my progress and how I’m feeling.  The programs she gives me are easy to access and she will always takes the time to read my notes about how the week went as she structures the next one.  Marissa is a talented, enthusiastic, and caring coach who has really made training fun and structured for me – and I’m a personal trainer myself!  Having her help me reach my goals reminds me how much everyone could use a good coach or role model in life.”

Milo: “Marissa is confident, encouraging, up to date on the learned literature, and on target. My doctor told me had he prescribed me medication, my blood pressure would not have dropped as much as it did with training and nutrition.”

Kimberly: “Marissa is one of the best trainers you could ever work with. I’ve trained with her since March 2015, and the results have been phenomenal! Not only have I lost 40 lbs, but I’m stronger and healthier than I have ever been. She has worked with me through my pain from spinal degenerative disorder as well as with my diabetes, carefully monitoring my progress and adjusting my workouts as necessary. My back pain has diminished significantly, I have more stamina, and I am also thrilled to report that my diabetes is now fully controlled through nutrition and exercise. If you’re looking for a trainer who is both supportive and motivating, I definitely encourage you to give her a call!”
